Puppets & Snow

for Jonas Kaufmann’s Album “It’s Christmas!”

Jonas Kaufmann has released his very first Christmas album “It’s Christmas!” with a personal selection of beloved songs and carols.

BFMI has produced the promotional clip for his interpretation of “Silent Night” in collaboration with the Salzburg Marionette Theatre.

The sculptor Vladimir Fediakov created the Jonas Kaufmann figure within a week and created it’s head by means of a 3D printer.

The puppeteers are trained to empathise with the various characters in order to bring alive the marionettes on the stage.

The clip is made of three scenes: the first one shows ‘Jonas Kaufmann’ together with a snow skater in a snowscape.

In the second scene “Jonas Kaufmann” is going for a sleigh ride.

The video was shot using the string puppets and stage settings of “The Sound of Music” and “The Nutcracker”.

The performance practice of the Salzburg Marionette Theatre has been included in the UNESCO list of Intangible Cultural Heritage since 2016.

2020 Salzburg Festival

John Williams in Vienna

“John Williams In Vienna” features the legendary composer’s historic debut concert with the Vienna Philharmonic, conducting them for the very first time. Before a single note had been played in the Musikverein, Maestro Williams received a standing ovation and told the audience that the invitation to work with the Vienna Philharmonic was “one of the greatest honours of my life”.

The Hollywood legend and the world-famous orchestra, joined by violinist Anne-Sophie Mutter, performed iconic themes from cinematic landmarks including Star Wars, Harry Potter, Indiana Jones and Jurassic Park. The legendary American composer’s movie soundtracks are among the best-loved of all time and have received countless prestigious awards, including five Oscars, five Emmys, four Golden Globes and twenty-five Grammys.
