The concert’s theme “Across the Woods and Meadows”( “Durch die Wälder, durch die Auen”) stands for wind music of the highest standard, which is synonymous with the Bläserphilharmonie Mozarteum Salzburg. The symphonic wind orchestra welcomes 2018 with its traditional New Year’s Concert on Jannuary 6th at the Grosses Festspielhaus.
Concerts by the Bläserphilharmonie Mozarteum Salzburg are highly and regularly acclaimed by the public and critics as listening and sound experiences of a special kind – not least thanks to the typical characteristic features and sound aesthetics evolved by principal conductor Hansjörg Angerer who plans and presents the programmes. Since it was founded in 2002, the orchestra, which is made up of select instrumentalists and graduates of the Mozarteum University in Salzburg from a great variety of countries, has made 18 magnificent CDs which have been enthusiastically received by the press.
