Violin Concerto No. 1 in D major, opus 19
Lisa Batiashvili is certainly one of the best violinists of her generation. Her interpretation of Sergei Prokofiev’s Violin Concert No. 1 is a spectacular manifestation of the multi-faceted oeuvre of the great master. She is kindredly accompanied by the Gustav Mahler Youth Orchestra under the guidance of Franz Welser-Möst. Batiashvili’s virtuosity and briskness truly make her performance a memorable event.
